Biography

As a joint managing partner and head of the creative department at Shalmor Avnon Amichay/Y&R since 1994, Gideon Amichay has led the agency to becoming the No.1 creative agency in Israel. In addition, Amichay is a member of Y&R's Creative Director's Summit (and among the top 8 creative leaders at Y&R). He has received the Shalmor Avnon Amichay/Y&R - Agency of the Year award five times from 1999 until 2006, the Campaign of the Year Award in 2006 and 1998 as well as more than 250 Awards in the Israeli Advertising Award Competition in 1991 – 2006. His achievements also include international awards, such as 9 Lions at Cannes festival (5 Lions in 2008 and 4 Lions in 2009). At the New York Festival he received the Grand Prix 1999 for the Israel Radio Campaign and multiple other gold, silver and bronze world medals at the Epica, Eurobest, Clio, Cresta, Goldendrum, Promax. Amichay received a BA in Graphic Design and Visual Communication from the Beyalel Academy of Art and Design in 1990.
